30 September – 1 October 2014 in St. Petersburg will host the XVI St. Petersburg international Forestry Forum "Russian forest week". The forum is held under support of the Ministry of natural resources and environment, Ministry of industry and trade of the Russian Federation, Federal Agency of forestry (Rosleskhoz) of the Russian Federation, Trading-industrial chamber of the Russian Federation, WWF Russia and RAO BUMPROM. The organizer – Exhibition Association "RESTEC®".
St. Petersburg international Forestry Forum — Russia's largest annual event, devoted to the development of the timber industry. The forum and exhibition activities under its programs are among the most important events in the life of the forest industry and traditional meeting place for leading representatives of business market leaders, authorities and science. In 2013 the Forum was attended by over 650 participants from 22 regions of Russia and 6 countries.
In 2014 XVI St. Petersburg international Forestry Forum will be held under the title "Russian forest week". The Forum will be opened with Plenary session "the Lumber industry complex. What is the growth potential?", in the course of which experts will analyze the state and prospects of development of basic sectors of forestry: forestry, logging, woodworking, bioenergy, pulp and paper industry, the development strategy of forest industry in Russia. The meeting also raised the issues of effective interaction of science, business and government and the problems of personnel potential of the industry.
The program of the Forum includes thematic units on the priority areas of forestry. In the "Timber and woodworking" included sections on topical issues of the woodworking industry: "Products of secondary processing of wood and Wooden construction and woodworking" and Round table "the timber Trade in present conditions. General analysis of the situation and development trends".
Thematic cluster "Forestry" will present to specialists the cycle of round tables: "the Forest policy and forest legislation", "Forestry in Russia", "forestry. Look into the future", "pbls: the economic dimension" and "Certification and innovation in forestry" (partner – the magazine "Forest industry").
Within the unit "Bioenergy, Dendrochemistry, the Pulp and paper industry" will be held a Conference on bioenergy "Bioenergy and Dendrochemistry in forestry. What is the potential of this segment and how to develop it?" and Round table "the Results of the Congress of international associations in pulp and paper industry".
Another important topic for discussion at the Forum will be the media strategy of the forest complex of Russia and prospects of its development in the framework of Round table organized in partnership with the Interactive forestry portal "FORESTEC".
The exhibition program of the Forum includes: XVIII International specialized exhibition TEKHNODREV, XI International specialized exhibition "Wooden construction" and the International specialized exhibition and conference on biofuels "Bioenergy" and XI exhibition of regions in the field of forestry "Regions of Russia. Forestry complex potential". At the same time will be an Exhibition of furniture industry suppliers of North-West MIFIC EXPO.
The complex of specialized exhibitions representing the entire technological cycle of wood processing, is intended to contribute to the solution of modernization of forestry complex of the Northwest Federal district and throughout Russia by demonstrating advanced technologies, modern equipment and tools for forestry, logging, bioenergy, woodworking and furniture industry.
The whole complex of the Congress events of the XVI St. Petersburg International Forestry Forum and the exhibition program brings together St. Petersburg international Forestry Partneriat, which will be working: business matchmaking, Business mission, Consultation center and Presentation area.
