The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) of Russia announces a competition to fill the vacancy of the Head of the Forest Program of the Amur branch

Place of work: the office of the Amur branch of WWF Russia in Vladivostok.


Management of the WWF Russia program for the conservation and sustainable use of forests in the Amur Ecoregion.
Promotion and representation of the Fund on the territory of the Amur Ecoregion and its international environment at the federal, regional and local levels, among NGOs and local communities on issues related to the conservation of biodiversity.
Cooperation with regional administrations, international and national environmental structures, non-governmental organizations, research institutions, nature reserves and organizations that allocate funds for the implementation of projects.
Project planning and management by their coordinators.
Management and planning of project budgets and the program as a whole.
Organization and monitoring of work on the allocation and conservation of forests of high conservation value, key habitats of rare, endemic and endangered animals and plants, on the conservation of forest carbon and multi-purpose forest management.
Cooperation with forestry management bodies, law enforcement agencies, customs service in the fight against illegal logging and trade in illegally harvested wood.
Development and implementation of methods to minimize the negative environmental effect of logging in the activities of timber companies.
Work with the timber industry to promote voluntary forest certification and responsible trade in wood.
Organization of interaction with forestry management bodies, large timber companies, forest management organizations in the Ecoregion on issues of sustainable forest management.
Participation in the preparation and conduct of WWF campaigns/actions.

Requirements for the candidate:

The presence of environmental beliefs and willingness to work in an environmental non-governmental organization;

Higher education (in the field of forestry, biology, nature protection);

At least 5 years of work experience in the vacancy profile;

Fluency in English (including written) language;

Organizational skills and sociability, ability to work in a team, initiative;

The possibility of frequent business trips, including in the field;

Fluency in computer, Internet, office equipment;
