Rosstat: pellet production in Russia increased by 19.7% amid a general decline in woodworking

According to Rosstat data for January-October 2025, the Russian timber industry is showing multidirectional dynamics. While the total volume of woodworking decreased by 2.8%, and the production of paper and paper products decreased by 3.1%, individual segments show significant growth.

The decline in plywood and chipboard output correlates with previously reported problems in the industry, including reduced export opportunities and domestic demand.

• Paper and its products: -3.1%
• Growth leader: pellets +19.7%
• The largest drop: paper wallpaper -16.9%
