"Timber" results.

In 48 subjects of the Russian Federation the Interdepartmental Commission on prevention of illegal harvesting and illegal timber trade carried out operations "Timber". During the operation stopped 745 cases of illegal logging in the time of their Commission. 1 337 filed criminal cases, revealed more than 18 thousand administrative offences, recorded more than 1,600 cases of illegal logging.

The head of the Federal forestry Agency Andrei Zhilin said that the operation was carried out with the aim of ensuring full cooperation for revealing of crimes in the sphere of production forests and overlapping of channels of transportation of illegally harvested timber on the territory of subjects of the Russian Federation.
2012 the event was held on the territory of 76 regions, in 2013 the number of subjects was reduced to 48, where more intensively commercial forestry.

Andrey Andreev - Deputy chief of transport management of the interior Ministry, said that the result of the operation was the identification of over 20 thousand violations. Most violations in Krasnoyarsk, Perm, Transbaikalian edges, Irkutsk, Tver and Tomsk regions.
