International forum "Forest and man" will be held in Moscow from 20 to 23 October .

To develop a set of joint actions of Federal and regional authorities of the Russian forest sector and interested foreign agencies for the development of sustainable forest management and timber processing in Russia - the main objectives of the forum.

The event was supported by the Government of the Russian Federation. It is planned that the forum will be attended by representatives of the forestry, leading domestic and foreign manufacturers of paper products, the heads of the major forestry regions of Russia, scientists and specialists of the forest complex. In the forum expected the participation of more than 400 business representatives in Europe, America and Asia, producing machinery, equipment, tools for branches of the forest sector, Russian companies, representatives of scientific community of a number of key international organizations and national industry associations from all over the world.

In the framework of the forum the Participants will discuss the following questions:
- Priority directions of development of forestry at the present stage.
- Registration of plots of the forest Fund in the state cadastre.
- Biotechnology and bioenergy in the timber complex – reality and prospects.
- Development trends of science and education in the forest sector.
- On the implementation of FLEG process in the Russian Federation.
- Reforming forest management and measures to combat forest fires in Russia.
- Accounting of wood and transactions with it.
- The General meeting of members of the Association of forest education.
- Involvement of Cossack communities to forest conservation and their participation in the development of the forestry complex of the Russian Federation.
The forum will be held on the territory of "Expocentre".
