Russian wood must be of high quality, softwood,

A maximum of 5 dry knots per 6-meter beam is allowed, with each knot having a maximum diameter of 30 mm.

Live knots with a maximum diameter of 20 mm are allowed in any quantity.

The wood must be free of cracks, kinks, deep or wide crevices.

The wood must be free of warping, dents, bends and twists.

The wood must be free of rot, fiber disorders, fungal damage, frost damage, as well as defects caused by compression or tension of the fibers, and without holes and channels made by insects and worms.

Natural and minor changes in the color of wood, not caused by rot, fungal damage or similar causes, are allowed.

6-meter lumber is of higher quality compared to 4-meter lumber.

The length tolerance for each sawn timber on both sides is up to 10 cm (only 20 cm of the full length).

The width tolerance for each sawn timber is up to 7 mm.

Notes on control:
The moisture content of the wood is measured using an electrode moisture meter at a distance of 30 cm from the edge of the board and to a depth of one fifth of its thickness at several points, then the average value is calculated.

Definition of a dry knot: a dark knot separated from the woody tissue, forming a hole.

Definition of a live knot: a light knot that retains its structure and does not separate.
